I watched first three episodes of Game of Thrones - Season III, and I am very disappointed.

Sembra che la storia non vada da nessuna parte; e il paragone con le rispettive scelte (di scene e personaggi) nel libro è impietoso. Vedere per esempio la gestione di Mance Ryder, il fondamentale Re Oltre la Barriera: Ciaràn Hinds è un ottimo attore, ma il personaggio è spogliato di ogni fascino. Nel libro è ben altra cosa!
Le uniche scene che trovo sempre coinvolgenti riguardano Tywin Lannister, attualmente il "vero" Re dei Sette Regni (le poche volte che appare Charles Dance si ferma tutta la televisione mondiale); Daenerys Targaryen Regina Al di là del Mare (Emilia Clarke è sempre perfetta; e la sua storyline interessante, pur se troppo semplificata, tra la riapparizione del mitico Ser Barristan Selmy e l'introduzione scioccante degli Immacolati); e un sempre più fantastico Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau è un figo della madonna, soprattutto quando man mano che acquista umanità viene contemporaneamente umiliato). Il resto è troppo frammentario.
Il fatto è che si perdono troppe sottigliezze, troppi dettagli e approfondimenti, ed è tutto superficiale. A differenza delle prime due serie, anche se non si conoscono i libri si vede che manca qualcosa... Io non li ho letti tutti e, se non mi accorgo da solo del vuoto, quando mi sorprendo di certe cadute di tono e stile mi rivolgo sgomento a chi li ha letti (molto più incazzata di me), che mi dice come sarebbe il magnifico originale... E mi sorprendo e mi arrabbio per la differenza!
La storia di Daenerys funziona lo stesso, anche se viene impoverita, perché comunque fortissima; il resto diventa un po' troppo ripetitivo. Sembra che la narrazione batta in testa, spogliata di forza espressiva e ridotta a episodi slegati, senza quadro comune. E soprattutto senza un'epica assolutamente necessaria, con la guerra che infuria. Tutto è quasi monotono nel suo lento e stanco avanzare quotidiano. Sembra che ognuno vaghi a caso e perda tempo. Non c'è più quella potenza coraggiosa, anche esagerata, sfrontata che mi piaceva tanto nel ritrarre la corruzione; e l'incredibile gestione dei tanti personaggi, sempre salda, che dava a ognuno non solo spazio ma anche senso.
Mancano poi diverse importanti scene letterarie, come l'introduzione vera di Mance o il Massacro al Pugno dei Primi Uomini. Incomprensibile... Avendo tale materiale a disposizione e tanto tempo televisivo, non si capisce il perché di questi tagli!
Vedremo ora la puntata 4 ecc, ma rispetto alle prime due Stagioni c'è un bel passo indietro.

The only sequences
always engaging are about Tywin Lannister, actually
"real" King of the Seven Kingdoms (Charles Dance's few appearances
stop the global television-world); Daenerys Targaryen the
Queen Across the Sea (Emilia Clarke is always perfect; and her
storyline is interesting, even if strongly semplified, between mind-blowing Ser
Barristan Selmy reappearance and shoking the Unsullied);
finally, the more and more fantastic Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj
Coster-Waldau is so cool, especially the fact that in gaining
humanity, at the same time he's humiliated). All the rest is too much sketchy.
Everything is shallow: many subtleties, details and depth are lost. Even if one doesn't know all the books, something is clearly missing - it never happened during first and second Season... I didn't read all volumes and, if I don't realize on my own the void, during surprising lapses of style and spirit I turn my dismayed face to the one who had read them all (and she's really much more angry than me), and she tells me about the wonderful original stuff... That difference gets me surprised and mad!
Daenerys’ story runs actually well, although drained: it’s very strong anyway; all the rest becomes too repetitive. It seems to me that narration limps, without drive and reduced to loose episodes, with no wider framework. Above all, without the necessary epic connected to the open war. Everything is almost boring in that kind of slow, tired daily progress. Each character roams random losing time. That old narrative power, bold and even over-the-top, shameless in portraying corruption (I liked it so much!); that incredible handling of so many characters, always firm in giving everyone the right place and sense… all disappeared.

Some important
book-scenes are also missing – Mance introduction or the massacre at the Fist of the First Men. I just don’t understand
these cuts: authors have so many television time and so much beautiful stuff to treat!

4 and so on. But, after Season I and II, III is a backward
step.
