Gravity: praticamente la Corinne Clery di "Pechino Express" persa nello spazio, con George Clooney al posto del Fidanzato.
Film bellissimo perché, seppur fintissimo (tutto CGI), è verissimo. L'unico film che ho visto in cui lo strombazzatissimo 3D ha un senso e che da senso allo strombazzaterrimo 3D. Tecnicamente e visivamente impressionante. Storia un po' forzata ma è inevitabile, visto che si tratta solo di geniali piani sequenza continuati basati su campi lunghi (milioni di chilometri) mescolati a secchi primissimi piani di un'unica attrice. Un'attrice, Sandra Bullock, contro la Terra, lo Spazio, la Morte, contro ogni Elemento... Peccato sia uguale a Corinne Clery.
***** su 5 stelle. Ma nessuna Lode! Bravo Alfonso Cuaròn, eppure aspetto ancora il tuo capolavoro, dopo tali tuoi filmoni...

Gravity: actually the French, old and annoying actress Corinne Clery (from Italian Tv reality show "Pechino Express") lost in space, featuring George Clooney as her "Fiancé".
This is a beautiful movie because it's super-fake (all CGI) but super-true. The only movie I saw in which I understand the sense of ever-hyped 3D, giving sense to the ultra-hyped 3D. Technically and visually striking. The story is a little strained but it's something in a way unavoidable: just made up of never-stopping and brilliant cinematic long-takes, based on long-shots (millions of miles long) mixed with dry, full close-ups of only one actress. One actress, Sandra Bullock, against Earth, Space, Death, against every Element... It's a pity she's the same as Corinne Clery.
***** out of 5 stars. But no Honour! Great Alfonso Cuaròn, and yet I'm still waiting for a masterpiece, after so many big movies of yours...

Tutti su Elysium! = Everybody to Elysium!

Elysium, dell'ottimo Neill "District 9" Blomkamp con l'ottimo Matt "Bourne" Damon, è una gran bella delusione. Prima metà visivamente riuscita ma con qualche buco idiota di troppo; seconda metà visivamente confusa e strapiena di buchi idioti. Quante ottime idee disturbanti di Fantascienza brutta, sporca e cattiva lasciate per strada e/o messe a forza fuoricampo (ad esempio l'immagine concettuale in apertura, dimenticata)! Nel complesso: film interessante ma "costretto" (dalla produzione) alla superficialità, per terminare con la scemenza gratuita. Peccato... grande occasione mancata. Aspettiamo il buon e brutale Neill alla prova Star Wars - sono sicuro ne farà uno dei famigerati Spin-off.

Elysium, by the great Neill "District 9" Blomkamp with the great Matt "Bourne" Damon, is a striking disappointment. The first half is visually good but filled with some foolish plot-holes; the second half is visually confused and ruined by lots of foolish plot-holes. How many beautiful disturbing ideas of a dirty, ugly and bad Science-fiction lost at sea and/or roughly pushed out of the screen (example: the forgotten concept image up above)! Actually an interesting movie “forced” (by production) to superficiality, ending in gratuitous nonsense. Such a shame… a great lost chance. Let’s wait for the good and brutal Neill to take on Star Wars – I’m sure he will direct one of the notorious Spin-off.

The Dome Boom

Ho appena finito di rileggere The Dome, l'enorme e velocissimo romanzo di Stephen King datato 2009. Dopo l'esperienza sconvolgente della prima lettura alla sua uscita, l'ho ri-affrontato per capire meglio la delusione suscitata dall'attesissimo adattamento televisivo CBS creato da Brian K. Vaughan Under the Dome. Beh... tanto la serie Tv è lenta e sciocca, superficiale e ripetitiva; tanto il libro originale è, al contrario, secco, serrato, sorprendente e disturbante. La seconda lettura è stata ancora più amata della prima. Ma come è possibile ridurre un tale capolavoro letterario alla ciofeca televisiva che ci hanno propinato? Si è fatto a gara per rovinare ciascun, magnifico personaggio e la straordinaria costruzione logico-narrativa della Cupola. In basso è ancora possibile votare nel Sondaggio sulla serie Tv...

I just finished to read again Under the Dome, Stephen King's massive but super-speedy 2009 novel. After the upsetting experience of the first reading (at the time when it came out), I took it again to understand why the long-awaited CBS Tv adaptation by Brian K. Vaughan is disappointing me so much. Well... the Tv series is actually slow and dumb, shallow and repetitive; but the original book is, on the contrary, really dry, fast, surprising and disturbing. I loved this second reading even more than the first one. How can such a literary masterpiece be reduced to the television rubbish they inflicted us? They tried in any way to spoil every wonderful character and the incredibile logical-narrative structure of the dome itself. Down in the Homepage the Poll about the Tv series is still available...
