I Tre Moschettieri non hanno mai avuto una degna versione live action, fedele ai tre meravigliosi episodi letterari di Alexandre Dumas. Che dire... alla BBC l'hanno finalmente azzeccata?! Se sì, questa diventa immediatamente la mia serie televisiva preferita in assoluto.
I Moschettieri sono (in alto, da sx a dx) Athos (Tom Burke), Porthos (Howard Charles), d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) e Aramis (Santiago Cabrera), fratelli in armi che combattono per la giustizia contro gli oscuri poteri di una Francia pre-moderna. Nella serie anche Peter Capaldi come l'intrigante Cardinale Richelieu, Tamla Kari, Maimie McCoy, Hugo Speer, Ryan Gage e Alexandra Dowling. Una run a episodi lunga dieci ore arriverà all'inizio dell'anno prossimo a rivoluzionare la nostra tv.

The Three Musketeers never, ever had a deserving live action version, faithful to the three wonderful literary episodes by Alexandre Dumas. Hey... The BBC finally nailed it?! If yes, this one becomes my absolutely most loved tv series of all.

The 'teers themselves are (up above, left to right) Athos (Tom Burke), Porthos (Howard Charles), d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino) and Aramis (Santiago Cabrera), brothers in arms fighting for justice against the dark powers of early modern France. Also aboard are Peter Capaldi as the scheming Cardinal Richelieu, Tamla Kari, Maimie McCoy, Hugo Speer, Ryan Gage and Alexandra Dowling. The run of ten hour-long episodes will be shaking up our tellys early next year.

Gravity: praticamente la Corinne Clery di "Pechino Express" persa nello spazio, con George Clooney al posto del Fidanzato.
Film bellissimo perché, seppur fintissimo (tutto CGI), è verissimo. L'unico film che ho visto in cui lo strombazzatissimo 3D ha un senso e che da senso allo strombazzaterrimo 3D. Tecnicamente e visivamente impressionante. Storia un po' forzata ma è inevitabile, visto che si tratta solo di geniali piani sequenza continuati basati su campi lunghi (milioni di chilometri) mescolati a secchi primissimi piani di un'unica attrice. Un'attrice, Sandra Bullock, contro la Terra, lo Spazio, la Morte, contro ogni Elemento... Peccato sia uguale a Corinne Clery.
***** su 5 stelle. Ma nessuna Lode! Bravo Alfonso Cuaròn, eppure aspetto ancora il tuo capolavoro, dopo tali tuoi filmoni...

Gravity: actually the French, old and annoying actress Corinne Clery (from Italian Tv reality show "Pechino Express") lost in space, featuring George Clooney as her "Fiancé".
This is a beautiful movie because it's super-fake (all CGI) but super-true. The only movie I saw in which I understand the sense of ever-hyped 3D, giving sense to the ultra-hyped 3D. Technically and visually striking. The story is a little strained but it's something in a way unavoidable: just made up of never-stopping and brilliant cinematic long-takes, based on long-shots (millions of miles long) mixed with dry, full close-ups of only one actress. One actress, Sandra Bullock, against Earth, Space, Death, against every Element... It's a pity she's the same as Corinne Clery.
***** out of 5 stars. But no Honour! Great Alfonso Cuaròn, and yet I'm still waiting for a masterpiece, after so many big movies of yours...

Gomorra (Matteo Garrone, 2008). Ambientazione da un altro universo storico/geografico ricostruito al microscopio. Passaggi dal personale al globale. Innovazioni visive sullo spazio: controcampi dall’alto improvvisi e pregni (il “castello con le guardie”, geniale sul Medioevo italiano del 2008) e stragi fuoriscena velocissime e intuite poi rivelate in panoramica verticale. Garrone ascolta la gente e fa cinema puro, onesto, autentico, legato ai tempi e alla società. Immerso in ciò che lo circonda, e ciò che lo circonda uccide.

Plunged within things around him, and the things around kill.

Kicking Asses...

Recuperato il Kick-Ass capostipite (2010) del grandissimo Matthew Vaughn, tratto dal fumetto Super-estremo di Mark "genio" Millar e John "boss" Romita Junior. Film galattico. Straniante e coinvolgente. Spietato. Molto più che "tarantiniano". Hit-Girl è indimenticabile; pure suo padre.
***** su 5 stelle.
E il secondo è magari ancora più bello... Un film straordinario. Straordinario. In effetti, ancora più cattivo e terribile del primo. Sconvolgente ed eccitante. S-coinvolgente. Epico e greve. Una figata sarcastica "alla DC" che approfondisce ulteriormente, in maniera sempre più ultra-tarantiniana, le figate del K-A 1. Fa vedere chiaramente (e, incredibile, simpaticamente) come la malvagità umana sia una cosa vera e, purtroppo, molto facile. Sei sei ricco.

I got back to first Kick-Ass (2010) by master Matthew Vaughn, from the Super-extreme comic by Mark "genius" Millar and John "boss" Romita Junior. A galactic, alienating and engaging movie. Ruthless. Much more than "tarantinian". Hit-Girl is unforgettable; her father too.

And the second one is maybe even more good... An extraordinary picture. Extraordinary. Actually even nastier and more terribile than the original. Upsetting and exciting. (Eng/r)aging. Epic and disturbing. A cool and sarcastic "DC-like" piece getting in depth, in an always more and more ultra-tarantinian way, the K-A 1's coolness. It makes you clearly see (in an incredibly funny mood) how human evil is real and, unfortunately, so easy. If you're rich.

Tutti su Elysium! = Everybody to Elysium!

Elysium, dell'ottimo Neill "District 9" Blomkamp con l'ottimo Matt "Bourne" Damon, è una gran bella delusione. Prima metà visivamente riuscita ma con qualche buco idiota di troppo; seconda metà visivamente confusa e strapiena di buchi idioti. Quante ottime idee disturbanti di Fantascienza brutta, sporca e cattiva lasciate per strada e/o messe a forza fuoricampo (ad esempio l'immagine concettuale in apertura, dimenticata)! Nel complesso: film interessante ma "costretto" (dalla produzione) alla superficialità, per terminare con la scemenza gratuita. Peccato... grande occasione mancata. Aspettiamo il buon e brutale Neill alla prova Star Wars - sono sicuro ne farà uno dei famigerati Spin-off.

Elysium, by the great Neill "District 9" Blomkamp with the great Matt "Bourne" Damon, is a striking disappointment. The first half is visually good but filled with some foolish plot-holes; the second half is visually confused and ruined by lots of foolish plot-holes. How many beautiful disturbing ideas of a dirty, ugly and bad Science-fiction lost at sea and/or roughly pushed out of the screen (example: the forgotten concept image up above)! Actually an interesting movie “forced” (by production) to superficiality, ending in gratuitous nonsense. Such a shame… a great lost chance. Let’s wait for the good and brutal Neill to take on Star Wars – I’m sure he will direct one of the notorious Spin-off.

The Dome Boom

Ho appena finito di rileggere The Dome, l'enorme e velocissimo romanzo di Stephen King datato 2009. Dopo l'esperienza sconvolgente della prima lettura alla sua uscita, l'ho ri-affrontato per capire meglio la delusione suscitata dall'attesissimo adattamento televisivo CBS creato da Brian K. Vaughan Under the Dome. Beh... tanto la serie Tv è lenta e sciocca, superficiale e ripetitiva; tanto il libro originale è, al contrario, secco, serrato, sorprendente e disturbante. La seconda lettura è stata ancora più amata della prima. Ma come è possibile ridurre un tale capolavoro letterario alla ciofeca televisiva che ci hanno propinato? Si è fatto a gara per rovinare ciascun, magnifico personaggio e la straordinaria costruzione logico-narrativa della Cupola. In basso è ancora possibile votare nel Sondaggio sulla serie Tv...

I just finished to read again Under the Dome, Stephen King's massive but super-speedy 2009 novel. After the upsetting experience of the first reading (at the time when it came out), I took it again to understand why the long-awaited CBS Tv adaptation by Brian K. Vaughan is disappointing me so much. Well... the Tv series is actually slow and dumb, shallow and repetitive; but the original book is, on the contrary, really dry, fast, surprising and disturbing. I loved this second reading even more than the first one. How can such a literary masterpiece be reduced to the television rubbish they inflicted us? They tried in any way to spoil every wonderful character and the incredibile logical-narrative structure of the dome itself. Down in the Homepage the Poll about the Tv series is still available...

Sono assolutamente sconvolto e incredibilmente incuriosito: il pluri-Premio Oscar Ben Affleck (già Devil ma anche Superman) interpreterà quel Batman che, tra due anni, si confronterà con il Superman di Henry Cavill nel sequel dell'Uomo d'Acciaio di Zack Snyder.
Il regista: "Ben è interessante come bilanciamento del Superman di Henry. Ha il talento recitativo per creare il ritratto complesso di un uomo più anziano e saggio di Clark Kent, che porta le cicatrici dell'esperto combattente del crimine; ma al tempo stesso ha il fascino che il mondo trova nel miliardario Bruce Wayne...".

Superman 2: ti presento Batman = Superman 2: Meet Batman

Fin dall'annuncio di Zack Snyder alla regia dell’Uomo d’Acciaio, si capiva che si sarebbe trattato del "nuovo Superman & della nuova DC" al cinema. Come nei fumetti: da Superman 1938 nasce tutto il pantheon supereroico DC Comics; a partire da Batman, il primo "figlio" 1939.

Since the announcement of Zack Snyder directing Man of Steel, it was clear that this movie would have introduced the cinematic "new Superman & new DC". Just like in the comics: Superman 1938 generates the whole DC Comics Superhero pantheon; starting with Batman, his first “son” 1939.

"Il ritorno del Cavaliere Oscuro" di Frank Miller (1986) è il capolavoro a fumetti unico, epocale e di culto del personaggio tra i più amati di sempre (Batman): viene adesso preso a coraggioso modello dall'ex-cineasta del già milleriano 300 (film a suo modo decisivo) per fare filologicamente un pazzesco, onirico e attesissimo da secoli "Superman contro Batman". Ciò chiude un cerchio da infarto per il Fandom, che infatti sta infartando il mondo intero del Fandom.

Superman + Batman, 2015!

Incredibile! Sala H del Comic-Con di San Diego, 20 luglio. Zack Snyder annuncia il sequel dell'Uomo d'Acciaio e, per far capire cosa più o meno racconterà, introduce Harry Lennix (nel film il generale Swanwick), che recita:

"Voglio che ricordi, Clark... Negli anni che verranno... Nei tuoi momenti più intimi... Voglio che ricordi... la mia mano... attorno alla tua gola... Voglio... che... ricordi... L'unico uomo che ti ha battuto..." (Il ritorno del Cavaliere Oscuro, il capolavoro di Frank Miller - 1986)

Ufficiale: Batman sarà nel secondo film di Superman, estate 2015!

Snyder ha detto che si ispirerà al quel Batman di Miller, non a quella Bat-storia. Goyer vocifera di un titolo "Superman vs Batman". Sarà il Batman di Miller: il più bello di tutti. Zack Snyder-300-Frank Miller-Superman-Batman: tutto è logico e bellissimo. La cosa più bella mia avvenuta.

Incredible! H Room, San Diego Comic-Con, July 20th. Zack Snyder announces the world Man of Steel's Sequel and, to hint at the rough subject, introduces Harry Lennix (Generale Swanwick in the movie), who starts to play:

It's official: Batman will be in the second Superman motion picture, Summer 2015!

Snyder said that Miller's Batman will inspire him, not Miller's Bat-story. Goyer says something about a "Superman vs Batman" movie-title. Miller's Batman will happen, the greatest of them all. Under the Dome, serie tv episodio #1: Pilot
Dal 24 giugno in USA (13 episodi per la Stagione I), dal 14 luglio in Italia (Rai2).
UtD (dal grandissimo romanzo di Fantascienza The Dome firmato da Stephen King e pubblicato nel 2009) è la serie televisiva, realizzata da Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) per la CBS; co-prodotta dallo stesso King e da sua maestà cinematica Steven Spielberg.
Vista la prima puntata: sono perplesso e freddo... O mi aspettavo troppo da un libro che ho molto amato, o davvero odio le serie tv americane! Quasi sufficiente; ma il "dome" del libro è ben diverso: non è una cupola ma un cilindro che va su (e giù) dritto quasi all'infinito... 

Mah. La serie non ha nerbo. O forse chiedo troppo: non è poi malaccio, gli attori sono anche OK, vedremo!...

UtD (inspired by the wonderful Science-fiction novel by Stephen King, published in 2009) is the televison series created by Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) for CBS; co-produced by King himself and his cinematic majesty Steven Spielberg.
I've seen episode 1 and I'm puzzled and cold... Either I had too great expectations waiting for the adaptation of a much loved book; or really I hate American tv shows! Barely pass; but the book's "dome" is absolutely different: that's not a vault but a cylinder going almost endlessly up and down...

D'oh! Show has no strength. Or maybe I ask too much: it's not that bad, cast is even OK, we'll see!...

Per celebrare il film dell'estate, vi propongo questa stupenda fan-image non ufficiale. Un'elaborazione femminile del nuovo costume smutandato di Superman ne L'Uomo d'Acciaio. Questa "Superwoman" alternativa, però, mantiene la classica gonnellina rossa della bionda Supergirl (secondo il fumetto-prequel del film, questa come Kara era nella capsula vuota che Clark scopre a bordo della navetta esploratrice kryptoniana sepolta tra i ghiacci; una possibile idea per il sempre più sicuro sequel?).
